NexusH2C - Hydrogen Production with CCS Workshop

🌎 NexusH2C - Hydrogen Production with CCS Workshop

We are proud to have hosted the NexusH2C – Hydrogen Production with CCS Workshop at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, as part of the ongoing IEA Hydrogen TCP and IEAGHG workshop series. The event brought together thought leaders from around the world, while grounding discussions firmly in the Canadian energy landscape.

Across keynotes, presentations, panels, and breakout sessions, conversations explored:

  • How hydrogen and carbon capture can work together to decarbonize hard‑to‑abate sectors.
  • Balancing global innovation with Canadian market realities, policy frameworks, and infrastructure strengths.
  • Blue hydrogen to emerging pathways such as methane pyrolysis and naturally occurring hydrogen.

The dialogue reinforced the importance of a coordinated approach across production, transportation, storage, and regulation.

One day was not nearly enough. We look forward to continuing the conversation and engaging pipeline professionals in shaping Canada’s low‑carbon energy future.

👉 Please keep an eye out for the official workshop report, to be published soon on the IEA Hydrogen TCP and IEAGHG websites.

A sincere thank you to all the speakers, panelists, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event possible. The workshop was hosted by the Energy Pipeline Institute of Canada (EPIC) in partnership with IEAGHG, IEA Hydrogen TCP, and the University of Alberta Centre for Hydrogen Innovation, Workforce Development and Outreach.
